Weekend Words From What I’m Reading:

The Gold-Rimmed Spectacles by Mac, a poet

Meet Andrew McEntyre

Welcome to the world of “Deep in the Woods”! My name is Andrew McEntyre, and I’m thrilled to share a little bit about myself and the journey that led me to start this podcast.

A few years ago, I found myself yearning for a creative outlet that combined two of my greatest passions: immersing myself in nature and engaging in meaningful conversations. Inspired by the profound insights of Casper ter Kuile’s “The Power of Ritual,” which emphasized the significance of intentional connections with nature, I embarked on a mission to create a space where such connections could thrive. And thus, in early 2023, “Deep in the Woods” was born.

With the invaluable support of friends, I delved into the technical intricacies of podcast production and set out on this exciting adventure. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of hosting an array of guests from diverse backgrounds, each sharing their unique stories and delving deep into the essence of a word they hold dear.

Beyond podcasting, my life is enriched by my roles as a devoted spouse and parent. My daughter, Applyn, brings her artistic talent to the podcast by creating captivating artwork, while my son, Ansel, impresses with his mastery of all things Minecraft. Professionally, I’ve dedicated over 15 years to teaching students with significant disabilities, advocating passionately for their inclusion and equitable access to education.

“Deep in the Woods” explores a variety of thought-provoking topics, including the power of storytelling, the challenges of creative expression, and the quest to uncover the sacred in our everyday lives.

If you’re curious to explore these themes further, I invite you to tune in to the podcast and join me on Instagram, where I share insights, reflections, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into the podcasting journey. Additionally, I express my creativity through poetry and blogs that resonate with the podcast’s themes.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and learn more about “Deep in the Woods.” Your support means the world to me, and I look forward to connecting with you on this enriching journey of exploration and discovery.
